Painter & Decorator in Dulwich Village (SE21)
Why Dulwich Village clients book me
Careful, unhurried work. Paint in the Village isn't a trade job slammed out in a week. Clients here expect proper prep, proper materials and proper detail. That's the way I work anyway.
I know the Dulwich Estate guidance. If your house is covered by the Scheme of Management and you're thinking about changing the colour of your front door or window frames, I'll check the Estate guidance with you before we commit. No rejected applications or angry letters.
Respect for period detail. Picture rails, cornice, panelling, ceiling roses. I'll work round them, not over them. Where your house has been over-painted in the past, I can paint it properly without making it worse.
Five minutes door to door. Van parks where parking allows, early start, clean site, same again tomorrow.

A typical Dulwich Village job
The last Village job I did was a four-bed Victorian semi on a side street off Dulwich Common. Three months after the clients moved in, living with heritage-chalk-paint walls that had gone flat and a cornice painted five layers thick.
We did the whole ground floor — dining room, kitchen-diner, hallway and loo. F&B School House White on the walls, F&B All White on ceilings, Mylands Stone Castle Grey eggshell on the woodwork, a Little Greene Juniper Ash on the panelling in the dining room. The cornice got two days of careful cutting-in and slow coats.
The client told me the dining room finally felt like the room they'd bought the house for.
Coverage
All of SE21, plus the parts of SE24 between the Village and Herne Hill. If your street is within the Dulwich Estate footprint I'll know it.

Usually yes, but if you're on an Estate freehold there are colour guidelines to work within. If we're picking something outside normal guidance I'll help you get it cleared first.

Interior, no. Exterior, depends on whether we're changing the look materially. I'll help you figure that out before we start.

Yes, all of them.

Yes. I regularly work alongside builders and electricians on bigger projects. Happy to sequence my work around theirs.
How a quote works
1. Send me photos.
WhatsApp (07933 509672) or fill in the form opposite. A shot of each room, anything tricky (mould, peeling, damp, wallpaper, water stains), and the rough size if you know it.
2. I'll send a clear, fixed quote.
Usually within 24 hours. Written down, broken out by room, no surprises at the end.
3. Optional, I'll pop round.
If it's a bigger job or there's anything unusual, I'll come and see it in person before we commit. No charge, no sales pitch.
4. Book in and paint.
Agreed start date, agreed finish date. Tidy site every evening, final walk-through at the end.
